Deep Dive Details:

The Ten Commandments, Today

This series will reveal how these commandments challenge the values of our modern world. In the context of the Ten Commandments, we will discuss:

  • Concepts such as the “Chosen People” and what Jews were “chosen” to do
  • Why “You Shall Not Steal” includes not stealing time or reputations
  • Why Judaism is far more interested in self-awareness than self-esteem
  • The meaning of the Sabbath and why “rest” is not the goal
  • The question of God’s intervention in history
  • Parental responsibilities toward children and adult children’s responsibilities to their parents
  • When you are not to honor your parents
  • The one, unforgiveable commandment (it will likely surprise you), and much more.

Join us for an intriguing exploration of these seminal ideas. Once you have consciously studied the Ten Commandments, you will be much more aware of life each day, helping you aspire to live a better life.
